About Us

 

Hello, we’re Hamish and Robyn, and farming has been a lifelong passion for both of us. We feel incredibly fortunate to spend each day on Black Pond Farm—our very own slice of paradise. To us, it’s more than just a farm; it’s our personal playground, and we love every moment of it.

As a small, family-run business, we personally carry out the vast majority of the work, with just the two of us completing around 99% of the day-to-day tasks.

We both grew up on and around farms and, from a young age, dreamed of one day owning our own land and producing high-quality food in a way that’s sustainable and respectful to the environment.

Hamish was raised on dairy farms and, after finishing school, studied and worked in the agricultural industry before taking up a trade as a heavy automotive diesel engineer.

Robyn’s passion for farming was inspired by her grandparents, who raised beef and lamb. From a young age, she dreamed of one day becoming a farmer herself. After studying business at Waikato University and working in the corporate world, she and Hamish finally got the opportunity to make that dream a reality with Black Pond Farm.

We feel deeply privileged to be the current custodians of this land. With that privilege comes a responsibility: to restore, protect, and care for the farm environment and contribute to a positive future for generations to come.
